dc.description.abstractThis study looks to analyze the theme: Economic Freedom and Human Development, based on the concepts of economic freedom and development and in the several studies that seek to identify this relation. To analyze this relationship, the countries that make up Latin America were chosen to identify the relationship between economic freedom and human development for this region. For this, the economic freedom index of the Fraser Instiute, the Index of Human Freedom developed by Ian Vasquez and Tanja Porcnik (2016) and the Human Development Index (HDI), calculated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the period 2008-2014 for Latin America using panel data analysis technique. After observing the data, it was identified that the relationship between economic freedom and human development is low, suggesting that other variables interfere in this process. Therefore, it is indicated studies that can analyze other variables that may help in this relation.eng

dc.description.resumoEste trabalho pretende analisar o tema: Liberdade Econômica e o Desenvolvimento Humano, baseando-se nos conceitos de liberdade econômica e desenvolvimento e nos diversos estudos que buscam identificar esta relação. Para analisar esta relação foi escolhido os países que compõe a América Latina com o objetivo de identificar qual relação existente entre liberdade econômica e desenvolvimento humano para esta região. Para isto, analisou-se o índice de liberdade econômica do Fraser Instiute, o Índice de Liberdade Humana, desenvolvido por Ian Vasquez e Tanja Porcnik (2016) e o Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH), calculado pelo Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD) no período de 2008–2014, para a América Latina, utilizando a análise de dados em painel. Após observados os dados, foi identificado que a relação entre liberdade econômica e desenvolvimento humano é baixo, sugerindo que outras variáveis interferem neste processo. Assim sendo, indica-se estudos que possam analisar outras variáveis que possam auxiliar nesta relação.por
